You may come across many disabilities in your work life. Some examples of common disabilities you may find are:

If your staff member's disability is not clear to you, ask how it effects their work and if they need adjustments so they can work to the best of their ability. DO NOT ask the person how they got the disability.
About 15% of the world's population lives with some form of disability, of whom 2-4% experience significant difficulties in functioning.
What is the Number 1 disability in the world?
Worldwide, the most common disability in people under the age of 60 is depression, followed by hearing and visual problems.
Depression is a common mental disorder. Globally, more than 264 million people of all ages suffer from depression. Depression is a leading cause of disability worldwide and is a major contributor to the overall global burden of disease. More women are affected by depression than men.
Does depression count as a disability?
Depression is considered a psychiatric disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It's a significant mood disorder that's known to interfere with daily activities, which may include your ability to work. Depression sometimes becomes so severe that you can no longer go to work.
What is the highest cause of depression?
Research suggests that depression doesn't spring from simply having too much or too little of certain brain chemicals. Rather, there are many possible causes of depression, including faulty mood regulation by the brain, genetic vulnerability, stressful life events, medications, and medical problems.
What happens to the brain during depression?
The influx of cortisol triggered by depression also causes the amygdala to enlarge. This is a part of the brain associated with emotional responses. When it becomes larger and more active, it causes sleep disturbances, changes in activity levels, and changes in other hormones. Brain inflammation.

How many pasychiatrists are there in India.
According to reports from the Indian Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the country needs around 13,000 psychiatrists. To achieve an ideal ratio of psychiatrists to population is about 1: 8000 to 10,000 but currently has just about 3,500 - which is about one psychiatrist for over 2 lakh people!. There is more scope of job opportunities in the psychiatry field in India.
Let us recognize depression as a disability . Not only the humans but all the animals even the plants and trees undergo depression.
Let us be a part of a happy world in .recognizing dissabilities.
Have a good day
